I loved Scooby Doo growing up, especially on days off from school. Now that I’m all grown up, this scooby snack drink has emerged as an ode to my childhood.

These sweet refreshing shooters have a creamy tropical flavor and are a fun pretty green color that’s sure to be the talk of the party.

Perhaps it’s reminiscent of Shaggy’s Shirt? Maybe we should call this shaggy’s treats instead. lol

the ingredients to make a scooby snack shot - coconut rum, melon liqueur, heavy cream, pineapple juice, whipped cream.

What’s in a scooby snack shot?

Only 5 simple ingredients and only a few minutes of your time are needed to make this scooby shot!

  • Coconut Rum
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Melon Liqueur – a lot of recipes call for midori melon liqueur but any brand will do!
  • Heavy Cream – my favorite ingredient. Heavy cream is the secret to ultra creamy and smooth shots!
  • Topped with Whipped Cream and garnished with maraschino cherries!

How to make a Scooby Snack Shot

  1. Then pour in coconut rum, pineapple juice, melon liqueur, and heavy cream. ‘
  2. Add ice cubes to a shaker cup.

3. Place the cap on top of the cocktail shaker and shake for 15-20 seconds. Strain mix into shot glasses and top with whipped cream.

Turn these shots into a Scooby Snack Cocktail

To turn these scooby doo snack shots into a scooby snack drink! Simply add an extra of ounce pineapple juice, add everything to a cocktail shaker and mix together and pour into a highball glass or an old-fashioned glass. Then top with whipped cream.

It’s smooth, tropical, and delicious!

Tips

  • Make this into a blue scooby snack shot by swapping melon liqueur for blue caracao.
  • Add the whipped cream on top just before serving! This ensures the whipped cream doesn’t melt into the shot.
  • Add creme de banana / banana liqueur to your scooby doo shot for an even creamier/rich tropical flavor.

Substitutions

  • For a dairy free option, I recommend either omitting the heavy cream completely or using full-fat coconut cream instead. Just be sure to shake well and ensure the mixture is smooth. You can also use vegan heavy whipping cream.
  • For a mocktail version of these scooby snack shots, add cream of coconut instead of rum. Also replace melon liqueur with a melon puree – the shots will be thicker but will be absolutely delicious!
