Hey there!
I’m Britney!
I am a self-taught baker, recipe developer, and food lover behind Britney Breaks Bread! Welcome to my blog – let’s make something delicious together. 🙂
What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a full-blown obsession with all things delicious—from golden, buttery pound cakes to cozy weeknight pastas and over-the-top brunch spreads.
This space is my love letter to home cooking—where Southern roots meet bold flavors, and every recipe is made with heart.
This space is my love letter to home cooking—where Southern roots meet bold flavors, and every recipe is made with heart. I believe food should feel like a hug: comforting, joyful, and meant to be shared. Whether I’m whipping up a classic dish with a twist or testing something totally new (hello, sweet potato ice cream!), you can bet it’s going to be full of flavor and easy enough for you to recreate at home.
You’ll find everything here—from gooey cookies and layer cakes to savory mains, quick bites, and mocktails the whole family can enjoy. I’m all about using quality ingredients, simplifying the process, and giving you the confidence to slay it in the kitchen. I also love geeking out over baking science, so if you’re curious about why cake flour matters or how to get that perfect muffin top, you’re in the right place.

My New Cookbook!
Britney Breaks Bread Cookbook: Bake Until Golden Brown
This is a book full of my favorite sweet and savory bakes from heirloom desserts to savory treats that you’ll crave constantly! I also add my spin on things with new, delectable twists on my favorite desserts!

Outside the Kitchen
Outside the kitchen, I’m the author of Bake Until Golden Brown (a dream come true!), a proud member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, and a brand ambassador for companies I truly love and use daily. I’ve had the joy of collaborating with brands like Crisco, Lactaid, McCormick, and Organic Valley—and there’s so much more coming!
Most days, you can find me juggling life as a mom, content creator, and cookbook author—with a whisk in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. I’m so happy you’re here, and I hope these recipes bring as much joy to your table as they do to mine.

Frequently Asked Questions
There’s SO much to choose from! For a crazy delicious savory family meal, my go to is my Cajun Seafood Boil Recipe and my kid’s favorite – Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs or Stovetop Beef Stew as a runner up! For sweets, it’s a toss up between my salted caramel kentucky butter cake, cream cheese pound cake, and buttermilk pound cake – I REALLY love to bake and eat cake.
I get inspiration for my recipes from all over the place—family traditions, seasonal ingredients, random cravings, and even trips to the grocery store. Sometimes it’s a dish I grew up eating that I want to reimagine with a twist, and other times it’s just me thinking, “What would taste really good right now?” I’m always jotting down flavor combos or dessert ideas that pop into my head while I’m cooking dinner, watching a movie, or scrolling through food videos. I also love pulling ideas from the stories behind certain dishes—like how a cake or spice blend connects to culture or memory. Honestly, it’s a mix of nostalgia, curiosity, and whatever’s in my fridge. If it makes me excited to get in the kitchen, I know it’s worth creating.
I used a Canon 5D Mark IV.
I got into blogging pretty organically—honestly, it started with me just sharing what I was cooking and baking at home on Instagram. I’ve always loved being in the kitchen, and people started asking for recipes, so I figured, why not create a space where everything could live? That’s when I launched Britney Breaks Bread. At first, it was just a fun way to document my food experiments, but over time, it grew into something so much bigger. I realized I could share not just recipes, but stories, tips, and a whole vibe that feels like you’re hanging out with a friend who loves food just as much as you do. It’s been incredible watching it grow, and I’m so grateful I took that leap.
That’s such a hard question because I love so many things, but if I had to pick just one, I’d say my favorite food is a really good cheeseburger. It’s the perfect food – meat, bread, tomato/lettuce/onion, with of course, french fries. A close second would be a moist, buttery pound cake with that perfect golden crust. It’s nostalgic, comforting, and just feels like home.
I’m from Philadelphia, but currently live in the Washington, DC metro area.
