Adios Motherfucker (or as it’s more mildly known, AMF Drink) is a bold, blue, and boozy blend of five different liquors, sweet and sour mix, and soda.
Order this drink at your local bar if you’re brave, or be a true badass and learn how to make this recipe at home!
Bring on the summer vibes with this adios drink! If you’re looking for a fun drink to serve at your next event, then you have to try this refreshing Bahama Mama, Mango Mojitos or these sweet white gummy bear shots.

The neon blue color of the Adios Motherfucker drink may have you thinking of lounging by the pool but this multi-liquor recipe is for those who want to get the party started!
This fun, colorful blue drink takes the “everything but the sink” concept and spins it into the tastiest strong cocktail.
Why is it called an Adios Motherfucker?
This cocktail is actually pretty potent and the name suggests what bartenders would say to patrons who order it! This drink is not for the faint of heart. It came about in the late 20th century (around 1980) but didn’t really become popular until the mid 2000s.
Adios MF goes by various names so if you don’t want to raise eyebrows you can call it something else like AMF drink. Adios Mother fucker is also referred to as Walk Me Down Drink, Blue Motorcycle, AMF Drink, and Blue Long Island Iced Tea.

Ingredients
See below to make sure you have all of the ingredients needed to make this adios drink.
- Vodka
- White rum
- Gin
- Tequila
- Sweet & Sour Mix: Made from equal parts lemon/lime and simple syrup, this mixer provides a tart and refreshing essence to cocktails.
- Lemon Lime Soda: Soda adds a welcome fizz and sweetness. I would opt for 7-UP or Sprite.
- Blue Curaçao: This popular Caribbean liqueur has a citrus flavor. It is made using the dried peel of the Laraha fruit, a kind of orange.
- Garnish: A lemon wedge and maraschino cherries are the perfect additions to top off this wild drink.
How to Make an AMF Cocktail
Adios mf drink is a mouth load to say but super easy to make!
Fill a glass with vodka, rum, gin, tequila sweet & sour mix, lemon-lime soda, and blue curaçao (exact measurements in the recipe card). Add ice cubes and stir together with a cocktail stirrer or spoon. Finally, add ice. You can use a cocktail shaker but it’s not needed.
Pour into a tall glass or highball glass and enjoy!
If you would like to add garnishes, then use a thin lemon slice and a maraschino cherry.

Substitutions
- Don’t have a sweet and sour mix? Make homemade sour mix with citrus juices and simple syrup. Simply mix together equal parts of lemon juice and lime juice and simple syrup. Or you can skip the mix altogether if you prefer a less sweet drink.
- Want to make a similar drink in a different hue? The Tokyo Iced Tea is a bright green tint that replaces blue curaçao with Midori, a melon-flavored liqueur.
- Want a sweeter adios motherfucker cocktail? Mix it with lemonade or limeade instead of a soda.

What to eat with an AMF Drink
There are so many yummy foods to eat with a blue motherfucker. (ok this is becoming funnier and funnier every time I type the name of this drink)
Anyway, I recommend pasta, especially this buffalo chicken pasta or this Lemon Ricotta Pasta – the carbs will sop up the alcohol. This blue mf drink would also be exceptionally good with a Seafood Boil or Philly Cheesesteak Sliders as an overall really fun meal!
FAQs
Adios Motherfucker is a potent cocktail for sure. In taste, it’s sweet but packs a punch. Do not let the alluring electric blue hue of this beverage fool you. It is strong but such a food drink, with 7 ounces of five different alcoholic components / spirits. Is it the strongest cocktail ever? No. But it’s far from mild.
drink. It’s a fun spin on the classic cocktail and suck a good drink. So basically a Blue Long Island. The only difference is that you swap triple sec and cola for blue curacao and a lemon-lime soda. This gets you that beautiful blue color. Taste-wise, AMF is slightly sweeter than a Long Island Iced Tea, with more hints of citrus flavor.
It’s sweet and citrusy and slightly tart with a nice fizz from the lemon lime soda.
