What You’ll Need

ingredients to make a strawberry lemon drop on a white surface - strawberries, lemons, vodka, triple sec, and simple syrup.
  • Strawberries – fresh, ripe strawberries that are juicy and sweet give this delicious strawberry lemon drop the best flavor. You can also use frozen strawberries (check out the variations section below).
  • Fresh lemon juice – I like to use fresh lemons and squeeze the juice into the cocktail shaker – it’s so much better than the bottled lemon juice!
  • Vodka – there’s a couple of options that you can use here. You can use regular vodka, lemon vodka (for extra lemon flavor), or strawberry vodka – whatever your preference is! Just be sure to use a quality vodka like Titos Vodka or Absolut.
  • Simple Syrup – to add a little bit of sweetness. You can buy simple syrup at your grocery store or liquor store or make it at home with this easy simple syrup recipe.
  • Triple Sec – triple sec is an orange liqueur that has a strong orange aroma and a sweet taste. The name “triple sec” comes from the French words “triple distilled,” referring to the traditional distillation process used to make this liqueur. It gives summer drinks a nice citrusy flavor.

How to make a Strawberry Lemon Drop

  • Make the sugared rim by rubbing a lemon slice along the top of a cocktail glass. Pour about 1-2 tbsps of sugar onto a plate and dip the rim of the glass into the sugar. (Image 1)
  • Add strawberries to a cocktail shaker with lemon juice and muddle together for 15-20 seconds, until strawberries are crushed and juicy. (Image 2)
  • Strain juices into a cup and discard the pulp. Pour juices back into the cocktail shaker. (Image 3)

Variations

Mocktail version! Omit the vodka and triple sec and use lemon-lime soda instead!

Try the blueberry version with my blueberry lemon drop martini!

Make it slushy! Use frozen strawberries instead of fresh strawberries to make a slushy cocktail! Add everything to a blender with ice and blend until smooth.

Use a premade mix instead! If you want to make a big batch of this strawberry lemon drop recipe, you can use premade strawberry lemonade mix and add as much vodka and triple sec as you’d like. (Omit the simple syrup for this version)
