This time of year is always my favorite. The heat begins to subside a bit and we’re left with the most delicious summer produce – summer stone fruits.
These beautiful fruits range from mangos, to peaches, to raspberries, and blackberries and I can literally eat my fill of them during the summer months. In fact, when I was making this salad, I could barely stop myself from snagging peach slices out of the salad.
The combination of stone fruits, honey, and fresh mint leaves gives this salad the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. Head to the farmers market and grab your favorite stone fruits and let’s make this delicious fruit salad!

Ingredients

White and Yellow Peaches – I used a mix of peaches to showcase their different flavors. White peaches have a sweeter floral flavor while the yellow peaches have bit more tang and bite. Avoid using canned fruit as much as you can, fresh peaches are the way to go.
Mangoes – I didn’t know that mango was a stone fruit until I was developing this recipe .. and I’m so glad that it is because it brings a tropical sweet flavor to the fruit salad. It’s my personal favorite too. 🙂
Plums – plums don’t get enough love! This tart yet sweet fruit adds a nice bit of acid to the salad which nicely balances the sweet flavor.
Blackberries – these juicy berries add a delicious flavor to the salad!
Cherries – I like to use dark cherries or rainier cherries because they’re usually sweeter. You can also use sour cherries for a more tart taste.
Honey – the honey simply enhances the natural sweetness of all of the stone fruit.
Fresh Lime Juice – fresh lemon juice works here as well. Be sure to save the lemons for lemon zest on top.
Fresh Mint – fresh herbs add a refreshing flavor to the salad. It’s a must so be sure to snag some fresh mint from the grocery store.
Variations
- Add a cheese: goat cheese, fresh mozzarella or burrata cheese, or even blue cheese and turn your summer stone fruit salad into a refreshing and light meal!
- Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a light and fruity dessert or a bowl of greek yogurt for a fun breakfast!
- If you like nuts, feel free to add in chopped nuts like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, even sliced almonds for a nice crunch.
- Add fresh apricots if you can find them. I can only find them at some parts during the year and wanted to keep this a simple recipe.
- Make this into a meal by adding a little some leafy greens and a protein. It’s a great way to incorporate different types of fruits and veggies into one meal.
How to make Stone Fruit Salad

Step 1: If using fresh cherries, be sure to remove all of the pits.

Step 2: Chop up the mint and zest the limes.

Step 3: Simply mix together all of the fruit in a large bowl. Then add lime juice and honey. Toss together and top with lemon zest.
Tips
- Save yourself some time and use a cherry pitter! It can be tedious to pit cherries and the cherry pitter saves SO much time.
- Ripeness: Ensure the fruits are ripe but not overly soft. They should be firm enough to hold their shape when cut.
- Cut Uniformly: Cut the fruits into similar-sized pieces for even mixing and easier eating.
- Chill: Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.
How to Serve

I love to eat this as a snack throughout the day or for breakfast with a little greek yogurt and honey. I sometime make this and use it as a topping for my buttermilk french toast with a little cream cheese fruit dip with it too!
I also recommend serving with ice cream or whipped cream for a light and refreshing summer dessert with some peach sweet tea or a fruity cocktail like my bahaha mama.
Oh, another cool idea?! Toss the fruit in a little bit of my peach syrup – it is HEAVENLY!
Recipe FAQs
A stone fruit salad is a fruit salad made with a variety of stone fruits such as peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, mangos, blackberries, and cherries. It’s often enhanced with citrus zest, fresh herbs, and a drizzle of honey or lime juice for added flavor.
To store stone fruit salad, place it in an airtight container and refrigerate it. It will stay fresh for up to 2-3 days, but it’s best enjoyed within the first day for optimal taste and texture. Before serving, give it a gentle toss to redistribute any juices that may have settled at the bottom.
Stone fruits, also known as drupes, include peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, cherries, and mangoes. These fruits have a large, hard pit or “stone” inside, surrounded by juicy flesh.
