One of my favorite things about summer is throwing parties and hosting get togethers. I love getting creative with appetizers and cocktails; and one of my new favorite sweet drinks are these are these starburst shooters. Everyone's favorite starburst flavor is the pink strawberry one - so why not make a full recipe dedicated to this delicious simple shaker recipe.
These starburst shots are sweet and fruity and creamy; they taste so much like the actual pink starburst it's uncanny! You're going to have to be careful because you're going to want so many!
If you're looking for something sweet to enjoy at a Bachelorette party, ladies night, happy hour, Valentine's Day, even Galentine's Day and birthdays - just make a batch of these!
This pink starburst shot recipe is so easy to make with only a few simple ingredients! The main ingredients are:
Of course you'll also need shot glasses or cocktail glasses depending on how you want to serve these. I'd like to note because these are so smooth and silky, they also double as an exceptionally good cocktail for a pink starburst drink or a shooter cocktail.
I recommend using a cocktail shaker with a strainer and a jigger but it isn't essential. If you don't have a cocktail shaker, simply add all of the ingredients to a large cup or pitcher and mix together. I also recommend adding this to a blender if you don't have a cocktail shaker - it makes it extra smooth!
(optional first step) If you'd like to add a sugar to the rim of the glass, dip the glass in honey or corn syrup and then place in sugar. I used pink sanding sugar for a fun color!
You can also use vanilla frosting to dip the glass into to make this an extra sweet shot!
Make the shots by pouring vodka, watermelon pucker, sweet and sour mix, and a splash of cream into a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds, until creamy and frothy! Then pour mixture into a shot glass or cocktail glass and serve. Be sure to strain the ice! Total time needed to make these - 5 minutes. It's incredible.
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to make the perfect cocktail. To make a large batch of this starburst drink, see the steps in the recipe card below!
All you have to do is add all of the ingredients to a large pitcher and give it a good stir. Then add to the refrigerator and allow it to cool until you're ready to serve.
Yes, this is a VERY easy recipe to make, however, there's a couple tips that will take these shots from great to grand!
You can use tequila, rums like Malibu or cahaca (a Brazilian rum that's delicious!). I don't recommend using gin or whiskey as the flavors would be too strong.
If you're looking for dairy free options or just don't have any heavy cream on hand, you can use cream of coconut or half and half instead. You can use the same amount as listed in the recipe card, just be sure to shake/blend well.
You can easily turn this shot into a mocktail by swapping watermelon schnapps for a watermelon or strawberry syrup, then swap out vodka for a non-alcoholic version of vodka like Strykk, and then add the heavy cream and sweet and sour mix as per usual. Same proportions apply!

5/5 shots were really good, nice and sweet!
These shots were out of this world. They were so smooth and not nearly as tart as other recipes I’ve made. 10/10
These shots are 5 stars! Sweet and sour and they so actually taste like the pink starbursts!
I'm so glad that you enjoyed them!
These shots taste like heaven in a glass!
Thank you so much!
I made these and your seafood boil over the weekend. I had some friends over and we loved both recipes. I'm going to try your bahama mama drink next. Your recipes are always so good. Thank you so much for giving us delicious recipes always!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you enjoy my recipes!
Friday night turn up with these shots is a bop!! I made this recipe so many times!! It legit tastes like pink starburst. 5 stars every time!!
I love to hear this! Enjoy!
My girlfriend’s 21st bday was yesterday and we made these shots and your lemon drop shots - she loved them. These were really good for a sweet girly drink.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed these for your girlfriend's 21st!
I whipped these up last night, they came out great. However, you HAVE to use a cocktail shaker or a blender for this recipe. The cream won't mix into the alcohol if you don't have a shaker or a blender. That being said, the shots taste great! They're really sweet and do really taste JUST like pink starbursts. Love this recipe!!!
Thank you for your feedback, yes a cocktail shaker or blender is strongly recommended!!
Made these 3 times so far and we all love them. The cream is a game changer, it smooths it out so nicely.
Thank you so much, I'm so happy you enjoy it!
Best shots ever!!
