What goes on a breakfast charcuterie board?
Any of your breakfast favorites. Think of this breakfast board as a breakfast platter. Anything you’d eat for breakfast or brunch is fair game. Make the brunch spread of your dreams! The following elements are perfect for a charcuterie board:
Breads
- Fluffy pancakes, Belgian waffles, mini cinnamon rolls, mini muffins, and donut holes are all the star of the show! Mini croissants, sliced bread, and bagels (especially with cream cheese and lox) are great too.
- Tip: Try to match pancakes / waffles of the same size to keep everything uniform when placing on the board.
Fruit and Jams
- Use Fresh Berries in season / any of your favorite fruits – pro tip: if any of the fruits are juicy, add them to a small bowls to prevent them from getting the other ingredients soggy.
- Honey, maple syrup, jams and jellies – even peanut butter or your favorite nut spread (especially nutella) all go well with this board. Feel free to add any of your favorite ingredients!

Cheeses
- High-Quality Good cheeses: rule of thumb, if it makes your taste buds happy – it’s good! I add this to say, enjoy whatever kind of cheese you like. Personally, I like a mix of soft, semi-hard, and hard cheeses like brie, smoked gouda, and cheddar. I also love adding a blue cheese to go with the fresh berries – such a great combination.
- Tip: allow cheeses to come to room temperature prior to serving the board. You can leave them out of the refrigerator for about 30 minutes prior to serving.
Meats
- Add any breakfast meats like sausage links, bacon, sausage patties, scrapple etc. Don’t forget to add the cured meat too! I used prosciutto, salami, and chorizo. In addition, I added smoked salmon/lox. Don’t be afraid to mix savory items with sweet treats. The flavor pairing can be delicious addition to your board.
Add-Ins
Some of my favorite add-ins are:
- Hash browns
- Jammy eggs / boiled eggs
- Greek yogurt
- Chocolate chips
- Fresh herbs
