Tips
- Thicken it up! Add a bit of cornstarch to this seasoning mix if you’d like to thicken up the sauce in the pan. About 1 tbsp should do the job.
- This recipe makes about 10 tablespoons of taco seasoning which is the equivalent of three packets of store bought taco seasoning. Use about 2 tablespoons of seasoning pound of chicken. You can use ground chicken, boneless skinless chicken breasts, or even boneless skinless chicken thighs.
- To enhance the flavor of this seasoning, add a little tomato sauce or ro-tel to the pan when cooking the meat. Taco seasoning typically has tomato powder in it so adding about a 1/2 cup of tomato sauce really gives it a beautiful authentic flavor.

How to Use Taco Seasoning
This taco mix can be used in a multitude of dishes. Some of my favorite recipes to use this mix are black beans, refried beans, nachos, cheese quesadillas, even queso dip!
When you’re ready to begin cooking, season the meat with the taco mix and add it to the pan. Sauté chicken in a large skillet until cooked thoroughly and add to taco shells or flour or corn tortillas. Use your favorite fresh toppings like lime juice, chopped lettuce, and a little cotija cheese, just to name a few! Then enjoy the most delicious chicken tacos ever!
