These Asparagus and Prosciutto Puff Pastry Bundles are the perfect appetizers for Brunch or any party! Asparagus, prosciutto, and cheese wrapped together inside of a puff pastry and cooked until perfectly golden - you can't go wrong. They're easy to make, quick, and so delicious!
It's finally Spring. I'm so ready to open up the windows, put on a little Anita Baker and do a little Spring cleaning to welcome the warmer weather and sunny days. In addition to that, I am also excited to welcome the in season produce - like asparagus. And what goes exceptionally well with asparagus? Prosciutto!
These Asparagus and Prosciutto Puff Pastry Bundles are so good. They're also incredibly easy to make. Imagine a square of puff pastry, brushed with a garlicky dijon mustard sauce, topped with prosciutto, cheese, and asparagus and then baked to perfection in the oven for about 20 minutes. Well, you don't have to imagine it, I highly suggest you give these a try ASAP!
These are the perfect finger food for just about any occasion. Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, or even just because. Because these Asparagus and Prosciutto Puff Pastry Bundles are so easy to make, you can double or even triple this recipe if you're cooking for a big crowd.
Taking that first bite will automatically please your tastebuds. The buttery puff pastry with the cheesy asparagus and prosciutto flavor combo is just heavenly. It's got a nice crunch and a deliciously cheesy texture that's unforgettable.
If you're having difficulty finding puff pastry sheets at your supermarket, you can certainly use crescent roll dough. Do keep in mind that you may have to cook the bundles a little longer (according to the package instructions), however, they'll still be pretty tasty!
The puff pastry that I use is Pepperidge Farm's Puff Pastry Sheets. I find them in the freezer section near the frozen pies and ice cream at the Supermarket. This is my go to brand for puff pastry sheet. Of course that is when I don't make my own 🙂
For this recipe, I wouldn't recommend frozen asparagus due to the water content. It'll make the puff pastry soggy while heating in the oven. Fresh asparagus is the best way to go for these tarts!
Yes, you can! However, if using bacon, be sure to cook the bacon prior to putting in the puff pastry dough for baking. I've found that the perfect way to cook bacon is on a baking sheet for 20 minutes at 375° F in the oven. It comes out perfectly crispy. Every. Single. Time.
For these Asparagus and Prosciutto Puff Pastry Bundles, you simply need a baking sheet, parchment paper, and the ingredients listed below. I also recommend using a pastry brush to brush the egg wash on top. However, this is just a recommendation. You can use the back of your spoon to do this as well.
No special equipment or ingredients! Just a baking sheet, parchment paper, and a lot of love! (cheesy but true lol)
