Key Ingredients

(full list of ingredients can be found in the recipe card)
- Fresh peaches are key here. Fresh, ripe peaches are going to give you the best flavor. I use yellow peaches, but you can also use white peaches for a more mild but sweet peach flavor.
- We’re using REAL LEMONS. I repeat, fresh lemon juice will give you the best flavor. If you have to use bottled lemon juice, I totally get it… but fresh lemons = real lemon juice = absolute deliciousness.
- Brown Sugar not only sweetens the peach lemonade, but it also enhances the peach flavor and balances out any tartness from the lemon juice. The molasses in the brown sugar also adds a subtle caramel-like flavor that is so good!
- Filtered Water ensures a clean, crisp taste without any off-flavors from chlorine or minerals that can dull the lemon and peach notes.
Substitutions and Variations
- If you’re watching your sugar, you can use monk fruit sweetener instead! Taste as you go adjust as needed.
- For a little fizz action, use soda water instead of filtered water.
- Peaches not in season? Use peach juice instead. Fresh in-season peaches will always be my go to, but they’re not available at the grocery store all year *sad face*. Luckily, we can use peach juice for a similar flavor – just measure with your heart and your tastebuds when mixing everything together.
- For a peach green tea lemonade, brew a few green tea bags in 4 cups of water before adding it to the peach peach mixture.
- Spike it up! Add a splash of vodka for a boozy twist.
How to Make Peach Lemonade

Step 1: Slice peaches, toss the pits, and place into a medium saucepan. (no need to remove the peach skins) Add 2 cups of water and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. Mix together and bring to a boil over medium heat.

Step 2: Boil for 20 minutes, then use a potato masher to mash the peaches. It’ll look a little wonky but this release all of the juicy peach flavor. Continue to boil until the liquid reduces by half, about another 20 minutes.

Step 3: Strain the peach simple syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a heat-safe container. Press out as much syrup as possible (pro tip: save the peach pulp and smear over toast or add on top of ice cream – it’s absolutely delicious). Then juice the lemons.

Step 4: In a serving pitcher, combine water, lemon juice, and the peach simple syrup. If you have leftover peaches, cut them up and add a few fresh peach slices into the lemonade along with some fresh mint (optional). Place in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve OR serve immediately over ice. Garnish with a few fresh mint sprigs and lemon slices and serve.
Pro Tips
- Choose ripe peaches! The riper the peach, the more natural sweetness and peachy flavor you’ll get. Freestone peaches are easiest to pit and slice, too.
- Use fresh squeezed lemon juice! Bottled lemon juice just doesn’t hit the same. Use fresh lemons for bright, clean acidity.
- Don’t add ice until you’re ready to serve! Add the ice just before serving to prevent watering down the flavor.
What To Serve With Peach Lemonade

Recipe FAQs
Yes! Frozen peaches work beautifully, just thaw them first. Canned peaches (in juice, not syrup) are a good backup when fresh ones aren’t in season.
Nope, peeling is totally optional. Once mashed and strained, you won’t even notice the skins, and they actually add extra flavor and color to the syrup.
Peach lemonade stays fresh for up to 5 days when stored in an airtight pitcher in the fridge. Just give it a good stir before serving.
Absolutely! Honey or maple syrup are great natural sweeteners. Of note they’ll add a hint of their own flavor. Start with less and adjust to taste.
Yes! Let it cool completely, then freeze in airtight containers or ice cube trays for easy single-serve portions. It’ll keep for up to 3 months.
Vodka, bourbon, or peach schnapps all pair beautifully. For something bubbly, try a splash of Prosecco or sparkling rosé!

Hi! What are the syrup to lemon juice to water portions if I want to make it in individual servings? I just made the syrup and got just under 3c. Thanks!
Hi! If I’m understanding correctly, you want to make just one serving? I’d start with about 2-3 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 cup water, and sweeten it with the peach syrup, as much as desired – taste as you go. Hope this helps!
