Boom Boom Sauce is a condiment that is exclusive to the Sheetz gas stations, which operates primarily in the eastern United States. It's a spicy mayonnaise-based sauce is a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce that is often described as a combination of mayonnaise, hot sauce, and various seasonings. It has a smooth and velvety texture with a unique flavor profile that sets it apart from other sauces.
The exact recipe for is a closely guarded secret, known only to the company. It's a great dipping sauce for french fries, sweet potato fries, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks. So what do you need to make this boom boom sauce recipe? Only a few simple ingredients! (Exact amounts in the recipe card)
Vegan/Dairy free option: use vegan mayonnaise
Sriracha substitute: you can typically find sriracha at the grocery store but I believe there's a shortage right now. If you can't find it, you can use hot sauce instead in the exact quantity listed in the recipe card.
Use fresh ingredients: if you want a more flavorful sauce finely dice about 2 cloves of fresh garlic and ¼ of a red onion and add it to the sauce in place of garlic powder and onion powder. This add a little kick of additional flavor and makes the boom boom sauce taste incredible!
Add cheese: add ¼ cup of grated parmesan for extra savory flavor to this creamy sauce!
This homemade sauce is a fantastic dipping sauce for SO many dishes. It can be used as a fry sauce, a burger sauce, and even a salad dressing! Here are a few of my favorite ways to serve boom-boom sauce:
Store leftover sauce in an airtight container. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to a month.
It has a little kick but is not spicy at all. It's more of a tangy sauce. If you'd like to make it spicy, add more hot sauce to suit your taste buds.
Boom boom sauce has a creamy texture with a mix of sweet, zesty, and savory flavors. It almost tastes like McDonald's Secret Sauce but with more flavor.

Thanks so much for catching that, it's supposed to say lemon juice and cornstarch!
