Nutty, chocolatey, and creamy - this Toasted Hazelnut Hot Cocoa will keep you warm all winter! It's an awesome way to elevate your hot cocoa!
Ingredients
Toasted Hazelnuts
1cupHazelnut, roughly chopped
3tbspsSalted Butter
1tspCinnamon
Pinchof Salt
Hot Cocoa
1/4cupCocoa Powder
1/4cupSugar
Pinchof Salt
3 1/2cupsMilk
1/4tspNutmeg
1cupDark Chocolate Chips
3/4cupHazelnut Creamer
1tbspVanilla Extract
Whipped Cream
Instructions
Roughly chop hazelnuts and place in a large skillet over medium low heat with butter, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Toast for 7-8 minutes, until hazelnuts begin to deepen in color. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a large pot, add milk, cocoa powder, dark chocolate chips, sugar, nutmeg, and pinch of salt over medium low heat. Stir occasionally until dark chocolate chips melt, do not bring to a boil. Remove from heat once warmed and all chocolate has melted. Add hazelnut creamer and vanilla extract.
Pour in a cup/mug and top with whipped cream and toasted hazelnuts.
