Ingredients

Brown Butter Waffles

  • ¾ cup Brown Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 4 tsps Baking Powder
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg
  • pinch Salt

Cinnamon Apples

  • 2 Apples, sliced
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • pinch Salt
  • ¼ cup Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Slice apples thinly and add to a small saucepan. Add sugar, cinnamon, pinch of salt, butter, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium-low heat until apples become slightly softened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Preheat your waffle iron.
  • In a skillet over medium-low heat, and add ¾ cup of butter. Brown the butter. Butter will become foamy and begin to bubble. Stir occasionally and remove from heat when the foam begins to turn brown and you begin to see brown specs on the bottom of the pan. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until frothy. Slowly pour in browned butter, whisking constantly until butter is fully incorporated into the mixture. Add a pinch of salt, flour, baking powder, and nutmeg and fold together with a flat spatula or spoon.
  • Spray waffle iron with nonstick spray and add batter. Cook according to your manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Add cinnamon apples on top of waffles and enjoy!
