Equipment
Large Microwave Safe Mug
Ingredients
8Oreo Cookies
1/4cupWhole Milk
1/2tspVanilla Extract
1tbspVegetable Oil
3tbspBrown Sugar
1tbspCocoa Powder
1/4tspBaking Powder
2tbspSemi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
PinchKosher Salt
Instructions
Combine milk and oreos in a large mug or small bowl. Use a spoon or fork to mash them into the milk until they’re fully combined.
Add the vanilla extract, oil, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Stir everything together until it's nice and smooth. Pour into a microwave safe mug and top with chocolate chips. They’ll melt into the cake as it cooks, creating delicious pockets of gooey chocolate.
Pop the mug in the microwave and cook for 1 minute. If the middle still appears uncooked, microwave in 10-second increments until it's set. Keep an eye on it until the cake has set on top but is still soft in the middle.
Let it stand for a minute to cool off, and then it’s time to dig in! Top the warm cake with ice cream, chocolate syrup, or caramel sauce or enjoy as is! Tips
Notes
Microwave Time: Microwaves vary, so you may need to adjust the cooking time. Start with 1 minute and then check. If it’s not set, give it another 10-20 seconds. Just don’t overcook it, or it might get too dry.
Don’t Overfill the Mug: Leave a little room at the top of the mug to prevent the cake from overflowing while it cooks. A large mug works best.
Use a Spoon: You can use a spoon to mix the ingredients and mash the Oreos. It’s quicker than trying to use a fork, plus it makes cleanup easier.
