Rich Chocolate Fudge Frosting made with chocolate chips, butter, cocoa powder, and cream for a silky smooth frosting that's perfect for cakes, cupcakes, or eating with a spoon!
9x13 baking dish(to cool the frosting, you don't need to bake this recipe)
Ingredients
1 1/2cups(340g)Salted Butter
2 3/4cups(468g)Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 1/2cup(360g)Heavy Cream
1 1/2cup(188g)Powdered Sugar, (sifted)
1/4cup(21g)Cocoa Powder, (sifted)
1/4cup(60g)Corn Syrup
1tbsp(15g)Vanilla Bean Paste
PinchKosher Salt
Instructions
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once melted, add chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir until warmed throughout and all of the chocolate chips are fully melted. Stir constantly to prevent the chocolate from burning on the bottom of the pan, this will take about 5-7 minutes. 1 1/2 cups Salted Butter2 3/4 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips1 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
Once everything is fully melted combined, remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, cocoa powder, corn syrup, vanilla bean paste, and a pinch of salt. Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the frosting into a 9×13 baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap and allow it cool to room temperature, then place into the refrigerator for 30 minutes. It will thicken as it cools. Before using, fluff up with a whisk if needed.
