Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Brussels sprouts
  • 5 pieces Bacon (cut into chunks)
  • 1 ½ tsps Fresh Thyme
  • 3 tbsps Salted Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic (diced)
  • 3 tbsps Sriracha
  • cup Honey
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • ½ tsp Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ cup Parmesan (shaved)
  • ¼ cup Pecans (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Zest (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. While the oven is warming up, cut the brussels sprouts in half and place them on a large baking sheet cut side down in a single layer. Then add sliced bacon and sprinkle with a little olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Bake for 20 minutes, until browned and crispy.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium low heat. Add garlic and thyme. Cook until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes, then add sriracha, honey, soy sauce, and smoked paprika. Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes, until ingredients come together.
  • Toss the brussels sprouts and bacon in the sauce and place in a serving bowl. Garnish with shaved parmesan, pecans, and lemon zest.

Notes

Tips for Making Crispy Brussels Sprouts
  • Ensure the brussels sprouts are firm and roughly the same size so they cook evenly.
  • Do not overcook the brussels sprouts, they'll develop a bitter taste and become soggy.
  • If you have especially small brussels sprouts in the bag, don't cut them in half. Conversely, larger sprouts can be cut into quarters.
  • Be sure to trim any browned outer leaves.
  • If you want extra sauce, simply double the ingredients to the sauce! Any leftover sauce is perfect for using as a dipping sauce for just about anything savory!
