I had no intention of cooking today. If you follow my blog, you know that I baked a blood orange strawberry shortcake that took a very long time to complete (completely worth it, not complaining AT ALL). I thought I was going to take the day off from cooking, but alas, the cooking gods have decided to call me back into the kitchen.
I made a brioche loaf last Sunday and we just could not finish the entire loaf. Because I didn't want it to go bad, I decided to cube it up and make a bread pudding. It's a quick, easy, and tasty recipe. It took under a hour start to finish so I hope that you enjoy this as much as I did. I HATE wasting food so if you've got bread that you're probably not going to eat, this is the perfect way to be resourceful and turn boring bread into a star worthy dessert.
Ingredients
½ loaf of brioche bread
1 cup of buttermilk
1 cup of whole milk
½ stick of butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup of sugar
¼ tsp of kosher salt
2 eggs
½ ripe banana
Whiskey Caramel
1 cup of sugar
3 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup of whiskey
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cube the brioche bread.
2. In a small sauce pan on low heat, melt butter and then add buttermilk, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and salt. Do not boil this, you just want it slightly warm. Add eggs and whisk until all ingredients are incorporated.
3. Grease a loaf pan (9x5 pan) and add cubed bread. Pour mixture into the pan so that all pieces are saturated.
4. Bake for 45 minutes.
5. For the whiskey caramel, melt the butter on medium heat in a small saucepan and add sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour in whiskey and bring to a boil. This mixture will be watery at first and will become thicker as you continue to boil. Stir frequently! When the pan begins to have a ton of bubbles, remove the heat and stir constantly until the bubbles are gone and all is left is caramel 🙂
6. Cut up half of a banana and place the bananas in the bread pudding (as pictured above).
7. Drizzle the whiskey caramel and add powdered sugar and cinnamon as desired 🙂
8. Eat 🙂

There are different kinds of bread and they have various kinds of names. There are different methods of making/barking bread. You can use bread to eat anything like egg, butter, pin not butter and any other thing. You can eat butter with or without anything. I love bread. Thank you for this article.
